  1. MARTIN SIMPSON CONCERT (1 st October at the Early Music Centre) Contrary to what we had earlier believed, Martin's concert is still well short of being sold out. We've just learned that the Early Music Centre Box Office had been double-counting the tickets given to us to sell at the club or through Cassadys. As of yesterday (Wednesday) morning there were in fact some 85 tickets left, not 25!! Please spread the word to anyone you think might be interested. While we have just about sold enough to break even, we could really do with more bums on seats, and Martin certainly deserves a good turnout. The concert begins at 7.30 and there is no support - Martin likes to get stuck in and play, and he will be doing 2 sets of at least 60 minutes each. Great stuff!!
Tickets are £10 full / £8 concessions and can be reserved through the National Centre for Early Music Box Office for collection on the door. Ring them on York 658338 or e-mail boxoffice@yorkearlymusic.org. There are also a small number left for sale to personal callers at Cassadys Records on Gillygate.

  2. KRISTINA OLSEN (24 th October at the Black Swan) has already attracted a lot of interest, so we are also doing advance tickets for her gig (£6 full/£5 concessions), which will be available from tonight at club meetings and from tomorrow at Cassadys. There may be space left on the door on the night, but to be sure of a seat book or at least reserve beforehand!

  3. HUNGATE COMMUNITY FORUM's day of activity at the Black Swan Inn has been postponed from this coming Saturday until Saturday 19 th October. Hopefully, we can arrange some informal music making for that day.

  4. THE CLUB E-MAILING LIST is growing. If you can help build up the list in any way, please do so, e.g. by forwarding this message to other club supporters and asking them to get in touch with me if interested.
