UISCEDWR IN CONCERT TONIGHT – TICKETS STILL AVAILABLE

This is just a quick reminder that the fantastic young folk trio UISCEDWR are in concert tonight at the National Centre for Early Music on Walmgate here in York.

UISCEDWR comprise the singer and phenomenal fiddle player ANNA ESSLEMONT and the virtuoso bodhran and percussion player CORMAC BYRNE, together with guest musician NICK WALDOCK on guitar and bass. Energetic, innovative and exciting performers, they promise us a wonderful evening’s live musical entertainment.
If you’d like a quick sample of what is on offer, go to www.uiscedwr.com or to www.myspace.com/uiscedwr. “Folk music at its best and most relevant” said the online magazine FATEA, while fROOTS welcomed their most recent CD as “an album of joy, defiance, solidity and triumph”, marking as it did their successful “comeback” after Anna’s recovery from a long bout of serious illness.
Tonight’s concert starts at 7.30pm with a support set by SARAH DEAN, singer and harpist, then UISCEDWR will do two full sets from 8pm. The concert should end around 10.15pm. There are plenty of tickets left (£ 13 full / £ 11 concessions), which can be bought unreserved on the door from 7pm. If you have a free evening, do please consider coming along.

Hopefully, I’ll get our next full Newsletter out by the end of the month.
